Sofia Cantore named Player of the Month for December! | OneFootball

The Juventus Women’s First Team are enjoying a good 2024/25 season so far, and December saw them close out the calendar year with three wins in as many games, keeping two clean sheets in those, and the new year then began in similar form with a 3-0 win over Sampdoria.

One of the reasons for Massimiliano Canzi’s side’s success so far this season is, indisputably, Sofia Cantore, and she has been named the Player of the Month for December 2024 by the AIC - the Italian Footballers’ Association.

In all, Sofia has 12 goals to her name this term - seven in Serie A, one in the Italian Cup, and four in the Women’s Champions League.

Those numbers just highlight how well she has been playing this season, and it’s no coincidence that she had already won the Player of the Month prize back in September as well.

Focusing on December, Sofia scored three goals in three games - one against Lazio, and twice against Fiorentina.

She’s been scoring, but it’s not just that. Sofia has been consistently performing at a high level and giving a hand to her teammates all season, becoming a real reference point for the Bianconere on the pitch.
