A sourced report from Football Insider says Chelsea are open to selling Trevoh Chalobah if they can replace him.

Chelsea are taking interest in Chalobah from other clubs, and Aston Villa are one of those mentioned in the report, as they search for a replacement for Tyrone Mings in the summer.

Chalobah has been messed around by Chelsea. They wanted to sell him, but ended up loaning him out. Then they needed him back and recalled him. Since then, he’s become a bit of a mainstay in the heart of the Blues defence. You have to admire his attitude and professionalism as he was basically outcasted by the club, who then decided that they wanted him back in the squad.

He could have gone AWOL but because Chelsea is his boyhood club, he stepped up for the cause and has actually been playing well.

The report says that Chelsea could be open to selling Trevoh Chalobah this summer if they sign a new senior centre-back.

Villa have set their sights on signing the English centre half at the end of the season.

As revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Chalobah could leave Chelsea for pastures new soon.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, Pete O’Rourke explained: “Things possibly could change if Chelsea were to bring in another centre-back, which they are understood to be looking to bring in in the summer window.

“They tried to sign Jacquet in the January window before losing out to Liverpool for him. They’ve got Levi Colwill to come back from injury as well.”

Chelsea are also apparently looking to replace goalkeeper Robert Sanchez in the summer transfer window, with links coming in now with a new Premier League goalkeeper.

Pedro Neto got an assist at the weekend, but Chelsea’s attack in general disappointed as they failed to capitalise more on their periods of dominance against Burnley.
