Southampton opened talks with Como over Ivan Azon on 14 July at a fee between nine and 10 million euros, Fabrizio Romano reported.

The price has not shifted since. Southampton had prioritised Will Lankshear, but that pursuit ended on 22 July when Tottenham confirmed his move to Middlesbrough.

Como signed Azon from Real Zaragoza for a reported two million euros in February 2025. He has yet to play a senior minute for them, spending last season out on loan.

Loaned to Ipswich Town, he helped secure automatic promotion with five goals and four assists across 38 Championship appearances. He started 20 games, logged 1,792 minutes, and earned an average rating of 6.49.

Finishing proved the issue, with five goals from an expected goals total of 11.46, a sizeable shortfall.

His market value is around four million euros, notably below Southampton’s mooted offer. With Ross Stewart gone on a free, Lankshear elsewhere and Cameron Archer attracting West Bromwich Albion, options have thinned.

Verdict: two out of five. Likelihood: three out of five, with no bid or medical yet reported.
