Despite being hampered by a groin injury in recent weeks, Lamine Yamal has been called up by Spain’s head coach Luis de la Fuente for the November fixtures.

This November, Spain will face Georgia and Turkey on the 15th and 18th respectively, as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. At a press conference, Luis de la Fuente stood by his decision to include Lamine Yamal, despite the Catalan prodigy struggling with a groin problem.

"I think the answer is obvious. I watched his last game, and I believe he’s in perfect condition. His coach (Hans-Dieter Flick, ed.) said he is fit to play, he’s getting back to his best form and that’s great news. He will stay with us as long as we consider it appropriate. We have two hugely important matches to qualify for the World Cup, the stakes are massive and we want the best players with us," he explained.
