Spain star responds to Barcelona transfer links | OneFootball

Real Sociedad and Spain star Mikel Oyarzabal has this weekend spoken out on the ongoing speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona.

Frontman Oyarzabal is of course in the midst of another altogether productive spell of form on the international front.

Continuing to act as the attacking spearhead in Luis de la Fuente’s Spain XI, the 29-year-old has directly contributed to five goals in four appearances at the World Cup.

This form, coming whilst surrounded by the likes of Pedri, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal, has given rise to fresh media chatter, tipping Oyarzabal to take his talents to the aforementioned Barcelona.

The Blaugrana are on the lookout for centre-forward reinforcements this summer, with the Real Sociedad standout understood to be on the radar of the Camp Nou brass.

If his latest comments are anything to go by, however, then Oyarzabal looks unlikely to depart Anoeta over the months ahead.

Drawn on his Barcelona links during an interview with COPE (as cited by Mundo Deportivo) this weekend, the versatile attacker assured:

“I’ve already said that I’m very happy at Real Sociedad, that for me it’s been a home, a place where I’ve felt safe and supported, even in the most difficult times, when I was at my lowest. Thanks to Real Sociedad, I’m here. That’s about it.”
