Sporting ‘to consider’ Zan Vipotnik as Benfica track Swansea striker | OneFootball

Sporting are monitoring Swansea striker Zan Vipotnik as they assess options in attack. Record writes that the 24-year-old has been identified as a possible option if Luis Suárez leaves Alvalade in the next window.

Any move would hinge on Suárez’s future, although the Colombian has an €80 million release clause. At this stage there are no negotiations for Vipotnik.

Benfica are also assessing the Slovenian, drawn by his goalscoring profile. The Lisbon rivals have kept the forward under observation in recent weeks.

Swansea have recently extended Vipotnik’s contract, strengthening the Welsh club’s hand and making any approach more complicated for suitors.

Vipotnik is valued at €22 million. This season he has made 49 appearances for Swansea, 44 in the Championship, four in the EFL Cup and one in the FA Cup, scoring 25 goals and providing three assists in 3,254 minutes.
