According to a recent report by SPORT, Barcelona are set to open the new Spotify Camp Nou for a crucial pilot test in July, marking a major step toward the long-awaited return to their iconic home.
This event will serve as a full-scale rehearsal with an audience in the stands, simulating a match-day atmosphere to assess the stadium’s readiness, especially in terms of fan mobility and safety logistics.
The aim is to simulate a real match, albeit with unofficial teams, in front of a live audience made up of volunteers, whom the club will invite specifically for this event.
This will allow both club officials and construction personnel to observe the flow of people throughout the venue and make any last-minute adjustments to access points, circulation routes, and seating logistics.
While the exact date and number of spectators for the July event have not yet been confirmed, the club has made it clear that this simulation is a precursor to a much bigger occasion, the Joan Gamper Trophy, which is expected to be the first official match played at the newly renovated stadium in August.

The target is to welcome between 40,000 and 50,000 fans, using only the first and second tiers, which will be the first parts of the stadium fully operational and open to the public.
Preparations for the reopening are intensifying. The external access points and essential infrastructure within the first two levels are being finalised at high speed, and club sources are optimistic that everything will be ready in time.
Significantly, Barcelona have already begun the process of moving out of Montjuic, dismantling all temporary setups there.
This move underlines the club’s confidence in resuming life at Camp Nou next season, even though work on the third tier and the stadium roof, scheduled for completion in 2026, will continue concurrently.
The new Spotify Camp Nou is entering its final phase before reopening, and the July pilot test will be a crucial moment. If successful, it will confirm that Barcelona’s historic stadium is ready to welcome fans once again.
