After joining Leyton Orient on loan from Tottenham Hotspur late in the summer transfer window, things took a while to get going for Josh Keeley. To begin with, he was often left out of the Orient match day squad, with the O's having more than the allotted five loanees allowed in a match day squad on their books, meaning someone had to miss out each week.

Having made his debut in a Carabao Cup defeat to Brentford in mid-September, the goalkeeper had to wait until the 19th of October for his second appearance, and first in the league. However, since then, he has not looked back - having not come out of the team once since then.

In November, Keeley saved a penalty in Orient's penalty shoot out win over Boreham Wood in the FA Cup, before keeping back to back clean sheets in games against Blackpool and Stevenage, and then saving another penalty in a defeat at home to Huddersfield Town.

Then, on the 30th November, with his side set to bow out of the FA Cup, he glanced home a header to force extra-time against Oldham Athletic, with an eventual 2-1 win after the 120 minutes. Since then, things could not have gone better.

During December, Keeley and Orient played six games, winning five, drawing one, and keeping six clean sheets in the process. During these games, the goalkeeper made eight saves, and impressively registered an assist during their 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic.

As a result of these performances, the 21-year old has been nominated for the PFA League One player of the month - with his team mate and central defender Omar Beckles also nominated for the award, as a result of their fine defensive displays. Should you want to vote for Keeley (you should) - here is the link to do just that.

On New Year's Day, the goalkeepers run of over 600 minutes without conceding was finally broken away at Bristol Rovers, but the O's managed to hold out for a 3-2 victory nonetheless. In their next game, it was back to another shutout, as they managed to beat Shrewsbury Town 1-0, with fellow Spurs loanee Jamie Donley scoring the winner in that game from an acute angle.

Brilliant to see both players doing so well, and long may it continue. Oh, and remember, make sure to vote for Keeley.
