Dani de Wit set up the opener in the 10th minute and later scored the third, as Utrecht beat Telstar 4-1.
The midfielder's early influence came from a corner, rising to nod a headed pass across goal for Matisse Didden to convert. His movement into the box from the No 10 slot repeatedly asked questions before the interval.
After the restart, de Wit timed another central run and swept a right-footed finish into the bottom right corner (72.), putting daylight between the sides.
He finished with one goal and one assist, two attempts, five touches in the box and won possession six times, underlining how his penalty-area timing and work rate drove Utrecht's threat. His aerial strength also told, winning four duels.
Set pieces amplified his impact, with Utrecht registering seven corners on the day, and de Wit's late arrivals kept Telstar's back line off balance during the key second half spells.
Utrecht rise from ninth to eighth and visit Excelsior next. Telstar drop from 15th to 16th and host Sparta Rotterdam next.
