Standout star's brace lifts PSV | OneFootball

Ivan Perišić opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a glancing header, and inspired PSV to a 4-1 win over Go Ahead Eagles.

Perišić rose at the back post to guide Kiliann Sildillia's cross into the bottom corner, a classic wide-forward run that put the visitors in front. He then created a headed chance for Guus Til (36.).

After the restart, Perišić's left-footed strike from the left side of the box found the bottom corner (70.). In between, he drew defenders with direct carries (55.) and slipped Til in for a low effort that was saved (59.), keeping the Supereagles pinned back.

He finished with two goals from four attempts, two on target, plus 15 successful final third passes from 61 touches and four possessions won, underlining his control of PSV's left flank.

With the Boeren exploiting width and early switches, Perišić's timing at the far post and sharp movements repeatedly unsettled the hosts' back line and decided the key phases.

Next up, the Boeren host FC Twente in the Eredivisie, while the Supereagles visit NEC Nijmegen.
