Rayan Kolli changed the game in the 81st minute with a right-footed strike, as Queens Park Rangers beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0. The substitute later added a second to finish a ruthless cameo.
Introduced early as a first half substitute (21.), Kolli quickly stretched the back line. He fired high and wide from the right after a corner (60.). He then arrived centrally but lifted over from close range after Richard Kone's lay-off (78.). Moments later he drove in from outside the box into the bottom right, again via Kone's pass (81.).
Late on he sealed it from a tight angle on the right, lashing into the top right after Kieran Morgan's headed pass (88.). The finish ended the Owls' resistance.
Kolli finished with four attempts, two on target, plus four successful dribbles and five possession regains. He completed 12 of 17 passes and made two clearances, showing edge with and without the ball.
Because space opened on the right as the Owls tired, his direct running and quick movements repeatedly exposed gaps outside the box, keeping the visitors off balance through the closing stages.
Queens Park Rangers rise from 12th to ninth in the Championship and visit West Ham United in the FA Cup next. The Owls host Brentford in the same competition.
How high would you rate Kolli's performance today?
