After Sunday’s disappointing result against Plymouth Argyle, Liverpool return to Premier League action against Everton for the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
Arne Slot made wholesale changes for the FA Cup clash at the weekend and is expected to return to a full strength lineup for this one, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson Becker set to return to action.
With that being said, let’s take a look at our predicted lineup for the Merseyside Derby…
Alisson Becker will return to the starting lineup after missing both the Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur and the weekend’s clash with Plymouth Argyle.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold remaining an injury doubt for this one, Conor Bradley is expected to start at right-back after also being rested at the weekend. Andy Robertson will also come into the side in place of Kostas Tsimikas, who failed to impress last time out.

Virgil Van Dijk will come back into the heart of defence and will captain the side and will be joined by Ibou Konate.
Verdict: Alisson, Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk (C), Robertson
Arne Slot will also make three changes in midfield after giving a number of first-team players the weekend off. Depsite the efforts of James McConnell and Wataru Endo, they will drop out of the side.
Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch will partner each other at the base of the midfield. Ahead of them, Dominik Szoboszlai will start as the most advanced midfielder, with Harvey Elliott dropping out of the starting eleven.
Verdict: Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai

Luis Diaz has often operated as the central forward for Slot so far this season, but Darwin Nunez could be in line for a start against Everton. The Colombian was a surprise starter at the weekend and really struggled to make an impact in the game with a hugely disappointing performance.
The pace and physicality of Nunez could be crucial against Everton’s tough defence.

Mohamed Salah will start in his usual role on the right-wing, whilst Cody Gakpo will come back into the side on the opposite flank. Diaz will be joined by the likes of Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa to add quality on the bench.
Verdict: Salah, Nunez, Gakpo
Starting XI: Alisson, Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk (C), Robertson, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Salah, Nunez, Gakpo
Bench: Kelleher, Quansah, Tsimikas, Endo, Jones, Elliott, Chiesa, Diaz, Jota
