Check out the standout stats and facts from Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 win over Arsenal in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final at the Parc des Princes last night.

Paris Saint-Germain WRITES ITS NAME IN FRENCH FOOTBALLING HISTORY

By reaching their fourth major European final (following on from the 1996 and 1997 finals of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the 2020 UEFA Champions League final), Les Rouge et Bleu have now become the French club with the most appearances at this stage of a major European competition in the last 30 years.

Paris have also equalled the record for the most finals reached by a French team in Europe's premier club competition specifically, which stands at two and is jointly held by the capital club, Stade de Reims (1956 and 1959) and Olympique de Marseille (1991 and 1993), although Les Parisiens are the first French side to reach two finals in this competition since it became known as the UEFA Champions League.

In addition, this was the first UCL semi-final in which Paris Saint-Germain had won both legs, making them the first French club to come out on top in the two matches of a major European semi-final since 1996, when Les Rouge et Bleu themselves beat Deportivo La Coruña 1-0 twice in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and FC Girondins de Bordeaux did the same against Slavia Praha in the UEFA Cup.

A TIMELY FIRST UCL GOAL FOR RUIZ

Fabián Ruiz sent the Parc des Princes crowd wild last night with a half-volley from the edge of the box that will undoubtedly go down as one of the best in the capital club's history. On top of that, this was the Spaniard's first UEFA Champions League goal for Paris – talk about timing!

With 12 different players having netted for them in the UCL this season, Les Parisiens are only bested by one other team in this respect: Arsenal, with a total of 13 different goalscorers.

ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL

Having been involved in 12 goals in the UEFA Champions League in 2024–2025 (scoring eight and assisting in four), Ousmane Dembélé now holds the record for the most goal contributions ever made by a player for a French team in a single campaign in the competition.

Meanwhile, Achraf Hakimi, who was named as the UEFA Player of the Match last night, has notched up eight goal involvements in the UCL this season (scoring three and assisting in five), giving the Moroccan full-back the best such total for a defender in a single campaign since 2000–2001, behind only Ireland's Ian Harte (nine) and level with Spain's Iván Helguera (eight).

Finally, how can we forget our last line of defence? That's right – Gianluigi Donnarumma proved decisive on three separate occasions to deny Martin Ødegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

SEE YOU IN Munich!

This month's final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan at the Fußball Arena in Munich will be the second Franco-Italian clash at this stage of the competition, while Germany is set to host its fourth UCL final involving a French club of the total of eight that will have taken place by then, following on from Real Madrid v. Reims in Stuttgart in 1959, Marseille v. AC Milan in Munich in 1993 and Porto v. Monaco in Gelsenkirchen in 2004.
