Joao Pedro is a bright spot for Chelsea at the moment, and according to the stats he’s the most in form player in the league.

Chelsea have just had two bad league games in a row, there’s no doubt about that. Dropping points against Leeds having been 2-0 up, then doing the same against struggling Burnley a week later is a disaster.

But despite the bad results, some players are still doing well. Our one goal on Saturday was scored by Joao Pedro, and that put him in a very impressive place indeed.

Joao Pedro most in form in the Premier League.

We noted a few weeks ago that he was now Chelsea’s top rated player of the season, overtaking Moises Caicedo. Well, now he’s gone one better and made himself the top player in the whole league in terms of form.

According to WhoScored, JP has an average rating of 7.62 in his last 6 games using their metrics. That’s the best in the Premier League.

He’s racking up goals and assists, and has taken his game to the next level since Liam Rosenior came in. There are no longer debates about whether he would look better playing as a ten, something which was suggested by Enzo Maresca.

We just need the rest of the team to hit his level and we will finally be getting the goals we need to turn these draws into wins again.

In other news…

Vincent Kompany is still trying to hint that Nicolas Jackson could stay at Bayern Munich after this season, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Liam Rosenior was understandably disappointed by Chelsea’s performance in the game yesterday, as he explained to Chelsea TV.
