Sweden coach Graham Potter has admitted he has spoken to Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski and Liverpool’s Alexander Isak, stressing that there is a chance for them to be part of Sweden’s squad next month in the World Cup qualifiers.
Potter was appointed Sweden’s coach last year, following his sacking from West Ham United.
One former manager backed Potter to have the minerals to succeed as the Sweden coach, but he is missing two of his best attacking players due to injuries.
Spurs’ attacking midfielder Kulusevski got injured in May last year and has not set foot on a football pitch due to a knee injury; his return date is still unknown.
Sweden hitman, Isak, suffered a long-term injury against Tottenham in December, and he is not expected to be back for Liverpool until March or April.

Potter is hoping to have the Premier League attacking pair back by March, when the next international break will take place, and when Sweden are set to play in the World Cup playoff round against Ukraine.
He is very well aware that coming back from such long-term injuries is difficult by March, as they will need proper rehab to prevent such injuries again.
“It’s hard to say”, Potter said via Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt when he was asked about the potential returns of Kulusevski and Isak.
“There’s still time for them to come back; they’re rehabbing well at their clubs.”

Even though Potter knows that it is not going to be easy for Kulusevski and Isak, he still believes that they have a chance to come back by the end of the coming month.
“I hope they can play, but these are big injuries.
“It’s tough to come back from injuries like that by March, but there’s a chance.”
Isak made a British transfer record to the Reds from Newcastle United this summer, and after struggling to settle in at Liverpool, his injury derailed his season.
