Strasbourg fan groups announce indefinite strike in protest against the BlueCo-owned club’s disciplinary measures | OneFootball

The four main RC Strasbourg fan groups – Ultra Boys 90, Kop Ciel & Blanc, la Fédération des supporters du Racing and Pariser Section – have announced an indefinite strike in protest against the BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 club’s policy. More specifically, and starting from Friday’s mouth-watering home clash against Roberto De Zerbi’s Olympique de Marseille, the fan groups will remain silent at La Meinau.

The chasm between Strasbourg’s most ardent fan groups and the club’s executives has widened following Chelsea’s announcement of Emanuel Emegha’s signing. A section of the club’s ultras led a protest against the owners and club president Marc Keller during Strasbourg’s 1-0 home win against Le Havre. Keller responded in kind and announced that disciplinary measures would be taken against fans.

“We favour appeasement and will comply with the measures imposed for the Marseille home game, while contesting their unfair and injurious nature“, the RC Strasbourg fan groups’ statement reads. “Under these circumstances, there will be no vocal demonstrations.” The RC Strasbourg adds that cheering on from the stands as if nothing had happened “would amount to legitimising a climate of censorship and collective sanctions.”
