No club has bought more players or spent more money in Ligue 1 this summer than RC Strasbourg Alsace. However, their spending is not complete, according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri.
It was expected that clubs would be lining up to sign Valentin Atangana (19), once Stade de Reims’ relegation to Ligue 2 was confirmed. The likes of Amadou Koné and Yehvann Diouf, two of the other more bankable assets in Les Stadistes’ squad, were quickly sold. The former joined Neom SC, the latter joined OGC Nice, decreasing Reims’ need to sell more assets.
However, more exits are expected and Atangana is now nearing an exit. Fearing advances from VfB Stuttgart, Tavolieri understands that Strasbourg are accelerating talks. Discussions with the midfielder are now at an advanced stage. Talks between BlueCo-owned Strasbourg and Reims are expected to advance in the coming days. Atangana could be the latest arrival in what has been a big-spending spree at RCSA this summer.
