Strasbourg want to extend Samir El Mourabet’s contract | OneFootball

Despite RC Strasbourg Alsace’s lavish spending in recent windows, it is one of their own academy products, Samie El Mourabet (20), who has established himself as a key player. The Morocco international has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at his formative club and is the fourth-most-used outfield player this season.

His performances for Strasbourg have seen him recognised at international level. The midfielder made his debut for the Morocco national team during the most recent international break. However, despite extending his contract with Le Racing until 2030 as recently as November, his salary does not currently match his stauts in the side.

As revealed in L’Équipe’s salary special last week, the player earns between €50,000-60,000 per month, currently. That puts him some way off the top 10 earners at the club, with Ben Chilwell currently the highest earner at the club (€300,000). 

Strasbourg are now looking to correct this and so are looking to hand El Mourabet a further contract extension, L’Équipe understands.
