Swiss centre-back Luca Jaquez, 21, has officially signed for VfB Stuttgart.

The Swabians confirmed the signing of the Switzerland Under-21 international on Monday.

“Luca Jaquez gives us another option for the centre of defence. Despite his young age, Luca has already played a considerable number of professional matches,” said VfB Stuttgart head of sport Fabian Wohlgemuth.

“We are confident that he can help us immediately and will also take further steps in his development in his new surroundings.”

Jaquez commented:

“It is a great opportunity and challenge for me to play for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. I want to repay the trust placed in me with great commitment and performance and help the team achieve the goals they have set for themselves. I'm really looking forward to my time here and I'm 100 percent motivated.”
