Lyon beat Nantes 1-0 at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Saturday to rise from fourth to third in Ligue 1.
In the 25th minute, Pavel Sulc swept a right-footed finish into the top right from the centre, turning in Afonso Moreira's assist after a corner.
After the restart, substitute Youssef El Arabi struck the post and forced Dominik Greif into two saves as Les Canaris chased an equaliser. Les Gones' back line stood up to the pressure, making 37 clearances.
Endrick was sent off (61.) for violent conduct after a VAR review, but Les Gones held firm to see it out.
There were lengthy stoppages and nine minutes of added time, with Moreira withdrawn injured late on.
Les Canaris had 53.9% possession and 13 attempts, striking the woodwork twice. Les Gones registered 10 attempts, three on target.
Next, Les Canaris visit Monaco. Les Gones host Nice.
