Sunderland and Bournemouth ‘to move’ for £30m Tarik Muharemović as Juventus trail | OneFootball

Sunderland and Bournemouth could make formal approaches for Sassuolo centre-back Tarik Muharemović in the coming days, according to Tuttosport.

The report adds the two Premier League clubs are ready to step up their interest, while Juventus are said to be some way behind in the race.

Muharemović, 23, plays for Bosnia and Herzegovina at senior level. Born in Slovenia, he previously captained his country’s under-21s and has already earned full caps.

He came through at Wolfsberger AC in Austria, making five senior appearances before joining Juventus in 2021. Much of his Turin spell was with Juventus Next Gen in Serie C, where he played 47 league games and scored twice.

A 2024 loan to Sassuolo proved influential, with Muharemović becoming an important figure in their Serie B title win and immediate return to Serie A. The move was made permanent the following year and he has since made 32 Serie A appearances, scoring twice.

Overall, he has 136 senior club outings and six goals, plus 17 caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina. His market value is estimated at about £21.5m to £30m, and the report notes Juventus hold buy-back and sell-on clauses that could allow a return for roughly £15.5m.
