In a recent report, Tuttosport claimed that Sunderland are showing interest in Roma winger Matias Soule. It has been mentioned that the Black Cats will have to compete with Fulham in the race to land the Argentine wide player this off-season.

Soule’s Impressive Form In Serie A

Soule enjoyed a good run of form at the Italian club last season when he produced a string of impressive performances for them on the offensive end of the field. The 23-year-old scored seven goals and secured eight assists in 42 matches for Roma in the previous campaign across all fronts.

The Argentine talent is currently among the most talented wide players in Serie A. Hence, it is no wonder that the Black Cats are eyeing a move to secure his services this summer.

His current deal at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Sunderland to sign him on the cheap in this transfer window.

Should Sunderland Boss Regis Le Bris Move In For Soule?

Soule is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out on the flanks. He has got the vision to create some decent openings for his teammates to find the back of the net.

The Argentine sensation can shoot the ball with power from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the wide areas. Soule mainly plays as a right winger but can also operate as an attacking midfielder or as a striker up top if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Black Cats manage to land him this off-season.

We can expect Soule to bring more quality and depth to Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris’ frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Stadium of Light next season.

At 23, Soule has got his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Wearside club to pursue this summer. Hence, Le Bris would be wise to move in for him in this transfer window.
