Sunderland are being linked with a double summer move, with TEAMtalk reporting the Black Cats are monitoring Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi and Union Saint-Gilloise striker Promise David as Florent Ghisolfi plans ahead.
Senesi, 28, is out of contract at season’s end and expected to leave on a free. Since joining from Feyenoord in 2022, he has started every Premier League game he has been available for this season, helping Bournemouth to five clean sheets in 25 appearances.
The report says Sunderland have spoken with his camp alongside Tottenham, Everton, Aston Villa and Newcastle. Barcelona are said to be leading the race, with Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Napoli also keen.
Sunderland are also tracking David. The 24-year-old scored 24 goals in his debut Belgian season and has 15 this term.
West Ham are viewed as the most advanced after initial talks, while Newcastle, Leeds and Brighton are also monitoring. Sunderland have sent scouts to Belgium several times and are said to have returned positive assessments. David is expected to feature for Canada at the upcoming World Cup under Jesse Marsch.
There is no suggestion deals are close, but the links reflect Ghisolfi’s blend of established top-flight experience and emerging talent. Whether either move progresses remains uncertain amid strong European competition.
Sunderland host Fulham in the Premier League at the Stadium of Light on Sunday as they seek to rebound from league defeats by Arsenal and Liverpool.
