Sunderland had looked primed to complete the signing of OGC Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka (25). However, the Black Cats now look set to miss out, according to a report from The Guardian.
Bulka is expected to leave Nice this summer. Despite initial optimism regarding a contract extension, talks reached an impasse last autumn and have not restarted. Desperate not to lose the goalkeeper on a free transfer next summer, Nice are open to a sale, especially given that Franck Haise recently said that the club had to sell to buy.
He had looked set to join newly promoted Sunderland in the Premier League in a deal worth a reported €20m. Whilst they retain their interest in the Poland international, The Guardian understands that he has agreed a deal to join Neom SC.
The club, recently promoted to the Saudi Pro League, have shown a particular interest in the French market. Saïd Benrahma joined in the winter, Alexandre Lacazette is set to join in the coming days, and Corentin Tolisso and Lucas Perri are also targets.
