TEAMtalk reports that Sunderland are among several Premier League clubs tracking Hearts teenager Alfie Osborne. Arsenal and Manchester City are also monitoring the Scotland youth international.
Scouts from Arsenal and Manchester City watched the 17-year-old for Scotland U19s in midweek, when Italy won 3-0, and he was widely viewed as a standout at the back.
This season the Tynecastle prospect has shifted from central midfield to centre-half in the youth ranks, impressing recruiters. Leeds United, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Fulham are also said to be keeping tabs.
Given his age, English clubs could sign him for compensation believed to be under £250,000. Hearts are keen to avoid that scenario and have pushed for a new long-term deal in Edinburgh.
Osborne is understood to be open to a move, which could trigger a summer battle for his signature.
In 2024, then Hearts manager Steven Naismith praised his presence, technique and attitude, noting he had trained with the first team and impressed despite limited opportunities.
