Sunderland could face a busy summer window, with several reported targets drawing interest from rival clubs and the prospect of multiple transfer tussles.
Fulham winger Harry Wilson is out of contract this summer and could be available on a free. Sunderland are among the clubs credited with interest, alongside Leeds United, Everton and Crystal Palace. Fabrizio Romano reports that Aston Villa are also keen, with initial talks held and the race described as open, with decisions expected in the coming months.
Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi is in a similar position as he nears the end of his deal and is being touted for a free move. Sunderland are said to be monitoring him, while Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Aston Villa and Chelsea have also been linked, and Barcelona are understood to be an admired and reportedly preferred destination at present. TEAMtalk reports that Newcastle United are the latest suitors and believe they can tempt him to Tyneside.
Up front, Football Insider suggests Sunderland and Leeds United are likely to reignite their pursuits of AC Milan striker Santiago Gimenez this summer. The Mexican was on the agenda for both clubs before January, only for an injury to stall any prospect of a move.
As things stand, competition appears strong and timelines remain fluid, with any decisions and developments likely to unfold as the window approaches.
