Sunderland Women to play five at Stadium of Light as WSL2 fixtures confirmed

Sunderland Women’s WSL2 schedule has been confirmed, with five matches at the Stadium of Light and an opener against Bristol City at Eppleton on Sunday, September sixth.
Sunderland Echo reports that Mel Reay’s side travel to newly promoted Burnley a week later, and the campaign is due to finish against Watford at the Stadium of Light between seven and nine May, with the exact date to be confirmed.
The first Wear-Tyne derby is scheduled for Sunday, November 15th, when Mel Reay’s side host Newcastle United at the Stadium of Light. The return takes place at St James’ Park on Sunday, March 28th.
Other Stadium of Light fixtures bring Southampton on Sunday, September 20th, Nottingham Forest on Sunday, March 21st, and Sheffield United on Sunday, April fourth.
The River Wear rivalry with Durham features two meetings, away at Maiden Castle on Sunday, November eighth, then at Eppleton on Sunday, January 31st.
Sunderland have also confirmed loan moves for Niyah Dunbar to Norwich City and Niamh Boothroyd to Middlesbrough.
