According to WhoScored, Dan Ballard and Nordi Mukiele are Sunderland’s most consistent Premier League performers this season, each posting an average rating of 7.01.
The Black Cats launched their return with a 3-0 home win over West Ham United on the opening day. Regis Le Bris’ side have since produced notable results against Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool, and completed a historic double over Newcastle United.
They are 11th, three points off the top seven and six from the top five. The campaign could still deliver European qualification for only the second time in the club’s history, and the first since the Cup Winners Cup in 1973.
An ambitious summer window underpinned progress, with notable additions to Le Bris’ promotion-winning squad. Robin Roefs, Omar Alderete, Brian Brobbey and Granit Xhaka have quickly become favourites with the Stadium of Light faithful.
Behind Ballard and Mukiele, Xhaka averages 6.97 and Alderete 6.95. Melker Ellborg is on 6.77, Robin Roefs 6.73, and Brobbey 6.47.
Sunderland now host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, aiming to continue an eye-catching return to the top flight with a positive result.
