Superagent confirms Lamine Yamal’s renewal and Ballon d’Or trophy | OneFootball

The biggest news coming out of Barcelona today is that super-agent Jorge Mendes is in the city to talk about Lamine Yamal.

The Catalans this week have announced new deals for coach Hansi Flick and, most recently, star forward Raphinha, who has penned a contract until 2028.

With these two deals done, Barcelona are expected to soon finalise the contract of Lamine Yamal, with a firm, no-nonsense approach.

Jorge Mendes confirms Yamal renewal

Barcelona fans have no reason to feel anxious either, as Jorge Mendes himself, in a recent interaction (h/t Mundo Deportivo), has confirmed that Yamal is going to renew his contract at the club.

“Of course, Lamine will renew with Barcelona,” said the Portuguese super-agent, who is likely in Barcelona to dole out the final details in Yamal’s renewal deal.

This is going to be an important renewal for Barcelona, considering the fact that the club are on the verge of offering Yamal one of the highest salary packages in the team.

Reports suggest the teenage sensation is set to become the third highest earner at the club, behind only Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski.

This conviction comes on the back of a stellar 2024/25 campaign that saw Yamal become one of the best wingers in world football at the age of just 17.

Many even expect Yamal to become a strong candidate to win the Ballon d’Or this year, including agent Jorge Mendes himself.

“Lamine Yamal is the best player in the world. He will win the Ballon d’Or,” said the Portuguese agent, whose statements hold a lot of weight in the world of football.

Barcelona fans, therefore, can look forward with quiet optimism as Barcelona look to announce the renewal of Yamal in the coming days.
