Sunderland will aim to impress again in 2026/27 after clinching European football last term, with a supercomputer predicting a 16th-place finish.
According to Betting Lounge, the model has Arsenal winning the title on 86 points, ahead of Manchester City on 78 and Liverpool on 75.
Regis Le Bris oversaw a seventh-place finish in the club’s first Premier League campaign for nine years, sealed by a final-day win over Chelsea. Results elsewhere confirmed Europa League qualification, so the Stadium of Light will host European football for the first time.
The projection puts Chelsea fifth on 66 points and Tottenham seventh on 63, with Newcastle eighth on 57. Sunderland are forecast to collect 40 points, one place above the drop, with Nottingham Forest 17th on 36.
Hull City are tipped to finish 18th on 33 points, with Ipswich Town 19th on 27 and Coventry City bottom on 24. Aston Villa are projected sixth on 63, while Brighton rank ninth on 55.
While Europe will command attention at the Stadium of Light, the club will also look to make progress in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. A busy summer window is anticipated as Sunderland build depth for the demands ahead.
