As reported in the BILD podcast„Bayern Insider“, the supervisory board now fully supports the potential transfer of the England international. According to the report, Max Eberl has been given the green light to press ahead with the talks and get the deal wrapped up if possible

According to the report, Gordon himself is keen to move to FC Bayern and an agreement between the player and the Munich club is said to be imminent

Newcastle remain firm so far

The big sticking point, however, remains the transfer fee demanded by Newcastle United. According to consistent media reports, the English club is still demanding between 80 and 90 million euros for the attacking player – a sum that FC Bayern is currently unwilling to pay

As has already been reported in recent weeks, Munich’s financial pain threshold is significantly lower – apparently in the region of around €60 million

According to BILD, this is precisely why Bayern are now hoping that Newcastle will give in to their demands over the course of the summer

Internally, the 25-year-old is still regarded as the absolute ideal solution for the attack, with Vincent Kompany in particular said to have high hopes for the England international

Gordon impresses with his pace, intensity and versatility and can be deployed on the left wing as well as centrally or on the right, making him a perfect fit for FC Bayern’s flexible attacking play

In addition, those in charge obviously value his aggression on the ball and his willingness to work defensively – qualities that have recently become increasingly important at Munich

Barça apparently out of the poker game

Another point in Bayern’s favor is that FC Barcelona, a prominent competitor, is said to have already dropped out of the race

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano recently reported that the Catalans are currently unable to meet the financial demands of a potential Gordon transfer

Nevertheless, the competition remains fierce, with several Premier League clubs continuing to keep a close eye on the situation

At FC Bayern, however, there is apparently growing hope that the transfer can be realized in the end despite the complicated negotiations – also because the player himself is said to be clearly leaning towards Munich.
