Surprise Barcelona star leading all players in Europe’s top-5 leagues in key passes | OneFootball

A head-turning statistic, highlighting the impressive opening to the campaign to have been enjoyed by Barcelona star Alejandro Balde, has come to the fore online.

Defender Balde is for his part of course sidelined at present.

This comes owing to a hamstring injury suffered at the beginning of September.

Prior to as much, though, the 21-year-old had featured from the off in all three of Barcelona’s La Liga fixtures to open the season.

And as alluded to above, along the way, Balde made his impact in the final third firmly felt from his berth at left-back.

As revealed by statisticians DataMB, the Spaniard has averaged the most key passes per 90 of any player in Europe’s top-5 leagues in 2025/26 (2.25).
