Atlético Madrid sporting director Mateu Alemany is a long-time admirer of the talents of Barcelona star Ferran Torres.

That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who has this week provided an update on the future of the Spanish international.

Speculation surrounding the situation of frontman Ferran has begun to ramp up once more over recent weeks.

This comes amid the understanding that, ahead of the expiration of his Barcelona contract terms in the summer of 2027, the Blaugrana are yet to make a final decision on their plans for the former Manchester City man.

A sale this summer has not yet been ruled out, amid considerable interest in Ferran’s signature from across Spain and beyond.

And as alluded to above, potentially ready to throw their hat in the ring for the 26-year-old over the months ahead are one of Barcelona’s La Liga rivals, in Atlético Madrid.

As per journalist Matteo Moretto, speaking to Radio Marca:

“He’s one of the players (Atlético sporting director) Mateu Alemany likes the most.”
