Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi believes Thiago Motta sent a wrong message to the team before a Supercoppa semifinal against Milan: ‘This team doesn’t have the obsession to win.’
Juventus suffered a 2-1 loss against Milan in the Supercoppa semifinal on Friday night. The Bianconeri dominated in the first half, but a Christian Pulisic penalty and a Federico Gatti own goal after the break sent the Rossoneri to the Final against Inter.
Motta had said in a pre-match press conference that he was not obsessed with winning, and Tacchinardi, a former Juventus midfielder, criticised the Bianconeri boss after the game, suggesting that he had sent the wrong message.

“I feel that this team doesn’t have the obsession to win,” the former Italy international told Sport Mediaset.
“It divides the fans and the ex-players who have worn that shirt for 11 years. My ex-teammates and I were obsessed with winning, even games in training. This is why hearing Thiago Motta say something like that literally surprised me.”
Tacchinardi spent 11 years in Turin, making 404 appearances with the Old Lady.
During his time at the club, he won several trophies, including five Serie A titles and one Champions League.
Milan and Inter will meet in the Supercoppa Final on January 6.
