Tammer Bany has been left out of Jordan’s World Cup squad, ending the West Brom attacker’s hopes of featuring at this summer’s tournament in Canada, the United States and Mexico.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, head coach Jamal Sellami named a 26-man list on Tuesday without the 22-year-old.

Bany committed to Jordan at the start of this season and debuted against Mali last November, having been born in Denmark and also eligible for Palestine.

His club progress stalled through injuries, including thigh surgery around the new year. Since a £3.3 million move from Randers at the end of the 2025 winter window, he has made eight appearances, all as a substitute.

He logged 70 minutes across Jordan friendlies, eclipsing the time he amassed in four substitute outings for Albion. He did play 45 minutes off the bench on the final day, a 2-1 defeat at bottom side Sheffield Wednesday.

His inclusion would have made him Albion’s only World Cup representative and Jordan’s sole England-based pick. The only member of Jordan’s squad active in Europe’s top five leagues is captain Musa Al-Taamari of Rennes.

Jordan, who have qualified for the first time, are in group J alongside champions Argentina.
