Sevilla are edging towards offloading Tanguy Nianzou to Lille, a move that would cut one of their biggest salaries. According to Diario de Sevilla, the French centre-back is a step away from joining the Ligue 1 side.
Nianzou is in France to finalise his departure and was granted special permission to skip the start of pre-season while resolving his future. Sevilla were even prepared to release him to shed his pay packet, with the defender earning around eight million euros gross per season.
The terms between the clubs are said to be in place, with only medical clearance required before he can sign. Lille finished third in last season’s Ligue 1.
Shipping out Nianzou is the most urgent outgoing, and the sporting department is accelerating other departures. Joan Jordán, Fábio Silva and Federico Gattoni are also prioritised, while Rafa Mir, Adrià Pedrosa and Chidera Ejuke are on the market.
His exit would end a bleak spell at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán across four seasons, hit by injuries and underperformance. Tensions also flared at the start of 2025/26 when he refused a salary reduction that would have eased the registration of new signings. Sevilla paid close to 20 million euros to Bayern Munich in summer 2022.
