The England international served a three-match ban after he was sent off against Liverpool last month - although he was able to play against Barcelona in the Champions League, when he scored his first goal of the campaign before facing Bradford in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
Gordon was on target in both legs as Newcastle overcame Arsenal 4-0 on aggregate to reach the Carabao Cup final last season, and also netted the winner in this fixture in 2023/24.
He keeps his place from Wednesday night's 4-1 cup victory, but there are six changes.
Nick Pope is back in place of former Gunners goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, while William Osula is swapped for Nick Woltermade despite his brace against the Bantams.
Tino Livramento, Dan Burn, Sandro Tonali and Jacob Murphy also slot back into the starting line-up.
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock is among the substitutes. He made 78 appearances for the North London club between 2017 and 2021, having come through their academy set-up.
