Ter Stegen named in Barcelona squad for England trip as Ajax loan nears

Marc-André ter Stegen has been named in Barcelona’s squad for their pre-season trip to Birmingham, despite an anticipated loan to Ajax in the coming days.

BuLi News reports that the clubs have an agreement in place, although tax matters related to his salary still need to be resolved.

Ajax’s new coach, Michel, said: "Everyone knows what's going on. Let's hope he can help us and soon we can talk about it." He previously worked with ter Stegen at Girona. He is looking forward to the 34-year-old’s arrival.

The initial plan was for ter Stegen to travel to Amsterdam on Monday for a medical, but that has been delayed until the issues are sorted.

Hansi Flick’s squad continued preparations on Monday, with Karim Adeyemi included after completing his move on Friday.
