Sunderland will send 11 players to this summer’s World Cup across the United States, Canada and Mexico after a resurgent season.

Brian Brobbey and Robin Roefs are selected by the Netherlands, who take on Japan, Sweden and Tunisia.

Record signing Habib Diarra features for Senegal in Group I against Iraq, Norway and France.

Chemsdine Talbi is named by Morocco, who face Brazil, Scotland and Wilson Isidor’s Haiti in Group C.

Omar Alderete will be the first Black Cats player in action as Paraguay meet co-hosts the United States on day two, then Australia and Türkiye in Group D.

Nilson Angulo’s Ecuador tackle Germany, Ivory Coast and newcomers Curacao in a daunting Group E.

Simon Adingra, who spent the second half of last season with Monaco after a slow start on Wearside, joins Ivory Coast to face Germany, Curacao and Ecuador.
