The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to become the largest football tournament in history and now even more fans will have chance to be part of it.

The International Federation of Association Football FIFA has officially announced the release of one million additional tickets for next year’s finals, to be held across the U.S, Canada and Mexico.

According to Heimo Schirgi the tournament’s Chief Operating Officer, global interest in the competition has exceeded expectations.

"We’ve already seen remarkable enthusiasm from all over the world particularly from the host nations. This next phase will allow us to thank local fans while also keeping access open to international supporters" Schirgi said.

FIFA confirmed that the second phase of ticket sales will be open to all fans regardless of nationality.

  • Fans in the USA, Canada and Mexico will have early access period before the general draw closes on Friday 15 November.
  • The random draw will take place between 12 & 15 November with fans receiving notifications at least 48 hour in advance of the purchase window.
  • A special allocation for host country residents will open on 17 November followed by later waves of general sales.

The biggest World Cup ever

The 2026 tournament will be the first edition to feature 48 team and 16 host cities marking the most expansive format in World Cup history.

Football’s governing body has also confirmed that additional ticket batches will be released at later stages as logistics & stadium allocations are finalized.
