Manchester United midfielder Casemiro insists he won’t U-turn on his decision to leave Old Trafford at the end of his contract this summer.

The Brazil international is set to become a free agent as his current deal is due to expire, though he’s been in superb form for Man Utd lately.

Although this has led to some calls for Casemiro to change his mind and extend his stay with the Red Devils, he seems pretty clear that he’s already made his final decision.

Speaking to the Athletic, he said: “I am still enjoying it a lot (in Manchester). I believe the announcement is now done. It is huge, the affection that the fans have shown towards me.

“But I do really believe the decision is made and done. I am enjoying myself right now. I believe it will be some difficult (emotional) moments, these (final) games at Manchester United.”

Where next for Casemiro as Manchester United spell comes to an end?

Casemiro will likely have a lot of options this summer, with Inter Miami perhaps being the most strongly linked with the 34-year-old at the moment.

See below as Fabrizio Romano has posted on X about Casemiro receiving an offer from the MLS giants, though there’s also still the possibility that he moves to the Saudi Pro League or perhaps even stays in Europe…

“Understand Inter Miami have started talks with Casemiro’s camp as first proposal has been sent! ” Romano said. “Casemiro, open to Miami move with ambitious project + personal life. Deal depend on financial proposal, as he received more bids from Europe/Saudi.”

Casemiro clearly still has what it takes to perform at a high level, as his recent United form shows, but at this age it’s possible that a decline could start soon, and that a move to playing in a less competitive league could be the best way to extend his playing career.
