Adam Wharton made the switch from Blackburn to Crystal Palace in January 2024
Blackburn Rovers narrowly avoided relegation to League One under Michael O’Neill this season.
The 56-year-old took charge at Ewood Park in February following the dismissal of Valerien Ismael.
He guided the Lancashire outfit to 20th in the table, surviving the drop out of the Championship by five points.
But O’Neill has since departed Blackburn, and it remains to be seen who will be in charge of the first team squad for next season.
Rovers will be hoping to bolster the first team squad over the summer in order to climb back up the table, having come seventh just 12 months ago.
The transfer window will officially open on 15 June, but planning will already be underway for how to improve the side for the new manager.

It has been reported by Alan Nixon that Blackburn are set to receive an extra £500,000 from Crystal Palace as part of their deal to sell Adam Wharton in January 2024.
It is understood that the Championship side have received a bonus due to the Eagles qualifying for the Europa League.
Oliver Glasner’s side finished 15th in the Premier League table, but their 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League final on Wednesday night secured their qualification for the secondary European competition.
Jean-Philippe Mateta’s early second half strike sealed victory for the London outfit, who had originally qualified for the Europa League 12 months ago before being demoted into the Conference League by UEFA.
Blackburn initially sold Wharton to Palace over two years ago in a deal worth £18 million, and they could yet further profit this summer if he is moved on again.
It has been reported that Rovers will receive 15 percent of any sale by Palace for the midfielder, who has earned a lot of plaudits for his performances in Glasner’s side.
However, Wharton was not included in Thomas Tuchel’s 26-man squad for the World Cup this summer.
The midfielder has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, but it remains to be seen whether he will depart Selhurst Park this summer.
The 22-year-old made 34 appearances in the Premier League this season, as well as 14 in the Conference League, contributing one goal and six assists between the two competitions.

Blackburn were left with little choice but to cash in on Wharton when Palace came looking to sign him in January 2024, but they at least negotiated a very strong deal for themselves.
Rovers have gained a lot of extra money beyond the initial fee due to bonus clauses inserted in his deal, and the 15 percent sell-on fee could prove quite important as well, if he leaves Selhurst Park.
The midfielder has gone from strength to strength over the last two years, and Blackburn fans will be proud to see him achieve European glory for the Eagles.
The £500,000 extra isn’t the biggest bonus in the grand scheme of things, but it will be more than welcome at Ewood Park at this stage, and could help with their summer business plans.
