Here are the six fastest goals in European Championship history.

6. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, 1:32 – GEORGIA vs Portugal (2024)

Georgia secured arguably the greatest result in their history to stun Portugal at Euro 2024. The tournament debutants won 2-0 in their group fixture against the heavily-fancied Portuguese, securing a place in the knockout rounds.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia got Georgia up and running with a quick-fire opener as the Napoli winger lived up to his star billing. Kvaratskhelia drilled in a low opener as Georgia upset a team ranked 68 places above them in Fifa’s rankings.

5. Emil Forsberg, 1:22 – SWEDEN vs Poland (2021)

Emil Forsberg got an enthralling encounter with Poland up and running as the RB Leipzig midfielder broke the deadlock after 82 seconds at Euro 2020. An angled finish from Forsberg fired Sweden ahead before he scored his second of the game to double the lead.

Poland fought back as Robert Lewandowski bagged a brace to level the game, but Viktor Claesson’s 93rd-minute winner sent the Swedes through.

4. Youri Tielemans, 1:13 – BELGIUM vs Romania (2024)

After a shock setback against Slovakia in their opening fixture of Euro 2024, Belgium needed a response against Romania and got one inside 73 seconds.

Youri Tielemans set Belgium on their way to a 2-0 win as the Aston Villa midfielder lashed in a low finish from Romelu Lukaku’s tee-up.

3. Dmitry Kirichenko, 1:07 – RUSSIA vs Greece (2004)

Greece were the story of Euro 2004 as Otto Rehaggel’s team upset Europe’s elite to be crowned champions. The Greeks were resolute defensively to beat France, the Czech Republic and Portugal in the knockout rounds, with their only defeat of the tournament coming against Russia in the group stage.

Dmitri Kirichenko opened the scoring in a 2-1 win for Russia after 67 seconds at the Estádio Algarve.

2. Merih Demiral, 00:57 – TURKEY vs Austria (2024)

Merih Demiral was the unlikely hero of Turkey’s 2-1 win over Austria in the Round of 16, as the centre-back scored both goals for Vincenzo Montella’s side.

The Al-Ahli defender stunned Austria with an opener inside the first minute, as Demiral reacted first to a loose ball in the penalty area to slam home a finish after a goal-mouth scramble.

Demiral scored his second with a towering header from Arda Güler’s corner kick as Turkey reached the tournament’s quarter-finals for the first time since 2008. He was equally imposing at the opposite end, racking up a mammoth 17 clearances in central defence.

1. Nedim Bajrami, 00:23 – ALBANIA vs Italy (2024)

Nedim Bajrami broke the record for the fastest-ever European Championship goal during the 2024 group stages.

Albania sprang a surprise with a goal after 23 seconds against holders Italy, as the underdogs showed they weren’t just here to make up the numbers in Euro 2024’s ‘Group of Death’.

The Sassuolo winger capitalised on a poor throw-in from Federico Dimarco to catch Alessandro Bastoni flat-footed and fired home a high finish inside Gianluigi Donnarumma’s near post.
