One major decision remains to be made when it comes to Barcelona’s starting XI to face RCD Mallorca in the club’s opening fixture of the upcoming La Liga campaign.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards as much as coming at right-back.
Barcelona are of course primed to kick the defence of their Spanish top-flight crown into gear this coming weekend.
A trip to Son Moix lies in wait, for a meeting with the aforementioned Mallorca.
Amid long-running preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, Hansi Flick and his staff have already decided upon the vast majority of those set to be included in the club’s first line-up of the term.
In fact, 10 of the starting 11 (fitness depending) are considered as all but locked in, as follows:
Joan García, Ronald Araújo, Pau Cubarsí, Alejandro Balde, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Fermín López, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Ferran Torres
This leaves just one available spot, at right-back.
Whilst Jules Koundé made this position his own last season, the recent excellence of Eric García has sewn a seed of doubt in the mind of manager Flick, who is yet to choose between the pair for his side’s trip to Son Moix.
