Chelsea working to get Cole Palmer fit for Barcelona game

Chelsea have had to make do without Palmer for the most of the season, and the England international has been limited to just four appearances.

Palmer has struggled with a groin injury, which was causing him problems at the Club World Cup, and the 23-year-old hasn’t played for the Blues since the defeat to Manchester United in September.

It’s been reported Palmer is close to returning to training, but as of yet that’s not happened, with Chelsea believed to be taking a long term approach rather than trying to rush him back.

However, The Standard have reported Chelsea are working to get Palmer back in time for the clash with Barcelona.

The report adds it remains the hope of both player and club that he will have recovered in time for the Champions League clash.
