The Wonderkid Power Rankings return with West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes still top after another standout week, as Manchester United and Chelsea starlets impress. According to Sunderland Echo, 3 Added Minutes’ weekly Top 10 tracks Premier League Under-21 form and this edition delivered several spectacular goals.
Adam Wharton drops out after his red card against Chelsea and will not return, he turns 22 before his suspension ends. Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi and Brighton’s Charalampos Kostoulas also make way.
Chelsea’s Estêvão Willian re-enters by racing from deep to score against Crystal Palace, then setting up João Pedro’s second. It was his first goal contribution in exactly two months, since his Barcelona masterclass. Bournemouth’s Álex Jiménez also returns, finishing superbly against Liverpool from a James Hill pass while operating as a right winger.
Wolves’ Mateus Mané climbs after set-pieces fashioned two chances against Manchester City. Brentford’s Michael Kayode slips, assured at the back in a 2-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest but quiet in attack. Newcastle’s Lewis Hall keeps a higher rank despite a 2-0 reverse, strong defensively though his six crosses did not land.
Newcastle’s Lewis Miley stays second after a respectable week, a looping header drew a fine Emiliano Martínez save and a wicked cross almost produced a goal against Aston Villa.
Fernandes remains number one after a thunderous strike from over 25 yards against Sunderland and another effort that smashed off the bar. Intelligent passing and seven ground duels won underpinned a box-to-box display, his lead looks to be growing.
