Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has insisted there is considerably more to come from the Blues this season, warning that the Carabao Cup win over Arsenal last month was just the beginning.

The 26-year-old chipped in with a goal and an assist in City’s commanding 4-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium at the weekend, with Erling Haaland bagging a hat-trick on a dominant afternoon for Pep Guardiola‘s side that set two historic FA Cup records and booked a return to Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final.

Antoine Semenyo joined Manchester City from Bournemouth for £64 million in January and has hit the ground running at the Etihad Stadium, claiming the Premier League Player of the Month award for February before continuing his rich vein of form in the weeks that followed.

Five Things Learned: Manchester City 4-0 Liverpool (FA Cup Quarter Final)

The Ghana international has spoken previously about the ambition that drew him to City over the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool in January – and his impressive start to life at the Etihad Stadium and seamless integration into Guardiola’s ranks already deem the transfer a success.

Semenyo: There is more to come

Speaking after City’s emphatic victory over Liverpool, Semenyo made clear the squad’s collective ambitions remain firmly intact as the campaign enters its defining weeks.

“City have aspirations to win every trophy or compete for every trophy and I want to be in a team like that,” the London-born attacker said, as quoted by Simon Bajkowski of the Manchester Evening News.

“I’m grateful and let’s see how it goes. For me personally, winning a trophy is great but there is so much aspiration and so many goals we want to achieve this season. There is more to come and we just have to keep going.

“It’s the most important part of the season now. We want to win as many games as we can, taking it game by game – and every game is a final now, so we have to keep pushing and see what happens.”

What next for Manchester City?

City will face Southampton in the FA Cup semi-final after the completion of the quarter-final draw, with a trip to Wembley now confirmed for the weekend of April 25-26 as the Blues chase a domestic treble in their first full campaign under director of football Hugo Viana.

Ten moments from the Liverpool win underlined just how far City have come since a difficult run of form in the early months of 2026, with Haaland’s hat-trick form, Rayan Cherki‘s creativity and Semenyo’s clinical contribution painting a picture of a squad that is hitting its stride at precisely the right moment.

The Blues also face a defining run of Premier League fixtures, with a title showdown against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium the most eagerly anticipated of the lot as Guardiola’s side look to close the gap on the Gunners at the top of the table.

Guardiola was watching from the stands against Liverpool as he served the second of a two-game touchline ban but the Manchester City manager will return to the dugout against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

For Semenyo, who revealed upon his arrival that Guardiola told him to “play free, express yourself” – the early signs suggest he is doing precisely that and City’s supporters will be hoping there is much more of the same to come.
