Under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership the Blues have invested heavily in signing the best young talent from around the world.

As well as signing the best talent Chelsea’s famed Cobham academy has an impressive production line with Reece James and Levi Colwill current first team stars.

Tyrique George and Josh Acheampong have both been promoted to the first team squad this season, and it’s hard not to watch a game of football where there’s at least one Cobham graduate on the pitch.

Enzo Maresca has been good at giving youngsters first team opportunities, especially in the Conference League and he’s handed first team debuts to Harrison Murray-Campbell, Genesis Antwi and Shim Mheuka.

Some of those could establish themselves in the first team set-up over the coming years, but further down the age groups there are players catching the eye.

Club legend Terry, who works in the academy is excited about three or four youngsters who are already playing up multiple age groups.

“There are these three or four [Chelsea] boys playing up at the 18s already, playing there at the age of 14 and 15,” Terry told talkSPORT.

“That is a different level and they are standing out at that level.

“What I love about a couple of them, they have got a little bit of personality, we were playing against Arsenal recently and Max Dowman was playing. Have you seen him play? He is a top, top player.

“He was taking the ball on the half turn, drifting away from players, looking back and a couple of our boys went and put it on him a little bit. It was good to see. But Dowman is a very, very good player.”
