The international break disrupted domestic football once again, but today we travel to Dundee to see Celtic back in action, and it’s a game we simply must get a victory.

All games are essentially must win at Celtic Football Club, and today is no exception, especially with a further two tough fixtures to negotiate in the coming seven days.

With Hearts continuing their impressive start to the campaign after a comprehensive 3-0 win at Rugby Park over Kilmarnock, a result which sent them five points clear at the top of the standings, the pressure is well and truly on Brendan Rodgers and the players to get a result, especially after some recent lacklustre performances.

Celtic must take this opportunity to reduce that gap to two points this afternoon, and with a tough trip to Tynecastle next weekend it’s imperative we get the three points and hopefully with it an impressive performance to boot.

Before next week’s trip to the capital there’s also the small matter of a home Europa league tie against Sturm Graz on Thursday night, which is now a must win due to our recent defeat at the hands of Sporting Braga.

It’s imperative that we lay down a marker today, set the tone and show why we’re the champions with the first of three Celtic victories over the course of the next week. Do that and we’ll certainly be in much better shape at the top of the league and in a better position in the Europa League.

All three matches are winnable and essentially they get tougher as we go through the week. Today is the most important and there’s one thing that is guaranteed and that’s that the travelling Celtic support will give the team their 100% backing in this match.

There’s likely to be a protest element today to but that will not cause any on-field disruption in a match where we will be without Daizen Maeda and possibly Paulo Bernardo.
