Leeds United are close to sealing a January loan for Harry Gray, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, and more temporary exits could follow before the two February deadline.
The 17-year-old is set to join Rotherham United, dropping into a League One relegation fight at the New York Stadium. Leeds value regular football for him and Rotherham’s proximity keeps him near family.
Three others could follow on short-term deals.
Jack Harrison, back from two season-long spells at Everton, has struggled for minutes, with his only Premier League start at Burnley in October and just 69 minutes since.
Leeds are in talks over a loan to Fiorentina for the rest of the season, and Fabrizio Romano reports an option to buy worth around £8.7million, which could aid PSR given the £11m fee paid in 2021.
Charlie Crew’s loan at Doncaster Rovers was cut short at the start of January after stepping up to League One. The 19-year-old, a key part of last season’s League Two promotion, is unlikely to feature soon and another loan in League One or League Two could help as he looks to stay in Wales head coach Craig Bellamy’s thoughts.
Sam Chambers, 18, was on the bench at Derby and is rebuilding after illness and injury, having returned in October from three months out. With survival the priority and a system change reducing winger roles, senior chances have been scarce. Any loan depends on fitness, but if medical staff approve, a six-month EFL move could provide games.
